Bill Bleil is a new addition to the Iowa State Cyclones football coaching staff. A Remsen, Iowa native, Coach Bleil worked with Iowa State Cyclones head coach Paul Rhodes at both Pacific and Pittsburgh. After Coach Rhodes accepted the position as new coach to the ISU Cyclones Football team, he hired Bill Bleil to be a part of his new staff. Iowa State Cyclones fans are eager to see what this football veteran can bring to the Iowa State University program.

Before joining the Iowa State Cyclones roster in 2009, Coach Bleil gained experience in the Big 10 and the Big East coaching several All-Star players. Coach Bill Bleil left the Akron Zips where he was the assistant head coach for three seasons. Bill Bleil also oversaw the Akron Zips running backs and tight ends for two seasons. In his first season at the University of Akron, Coach Bliel helped second-team All American Brett Biggs rush for 1,230 yards setting a school record for 5th highest single-season yards.

Coach Bleil also has Head Coach experience, giving him a competitive edge against other candidates for this posisiton. Coach Bleil led Western Carolina from 1997 to 2001. During this time he led the Western Carolina Catamounts to their first winning season in years. Iowa State Cyclones fans are hopeful that Coach Bleil will bring this winning attitude to Ames, Iowa this season!
